Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore is one of the most famous national parks in India and is renowned for its large population of Bengal tigers. Sprawling across hills and lakes with dry forests in between, Ranthambore offers an good opportunity to witness these magnificent wild animals in their natural habitat. Apart from tigers the park is home to deer, leopards, fox and diverse species of birds.
Sariska Tiger Reserve
Sariska Tiger Reserve is another important sanctuary for tiger conservation located in the Aravalli Range. The reserve is not just about tigers but is also shelters leopards, hyenas, sambar deer and various numerous bird species. The historic ruins of Kankwari Fort within the tiger reserve is also a must visit place within the wildlife experience.
Keoladeo National Park (Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary)
Keoladeo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site also known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. It is a paradise for bird enthusiasts where the wetlands attract migratory birds from various parts of the world. Spotting rare species of birds like the Siberian crane, painted stork and various other species makes it a birdwatcher's haven.
Desert National Park (near Jaisalmer)
In the heart of the Thar Desert lies the Desert National Park which has a close proximity to Jaisalmer and Sam dunes. This park is home to the endangered Great Indian Bustard which are a protected species as well as desert foxes, monitor lizards and various other reptiles and birds. The landscape of sand dunes and terrain offers a glimpse of resilient life in the desert.
Tal Chhapar Sanctuary
Tal Chhapar is known for its blackbuck population. It is a small yet significant sanctuary. Watching the elegant antelopes in their natural habitat is a delightful experience. The sanctuary also hosts various migratory birds during winters.
Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary
Lesser known and nestled in the Aravalli range the Mount Abu sanctuary shelters a variety of wildlife such as leopards, sloth bears and wild boars including Indian wolf.

Best Time to Visit
Winter months (October to March) are ideal for wildlife safaris when the weather is pleasant and wildlife sightings are more frequent.
Ranthambore is closed from July to Sept and opens on 1st October till 30th June.
Safari Experience
Most sanctuaries offer safari rides (jeep or canter safaris) providing an up-close encounter with wildlife. Advance booking is recommended.
